The tablinum had flooring of opus signinum.

The zoccolo was black.

On either side of the tablinum doorway from the atrium, also painted black, there were fake grooves with white and yellow lines.

The two side tablinum walls were divided into five panels, the central yellow, the two side-panels were red, and the two outer were black.

The yellow panel was separated from the red by means of high, narrow, white columns.

The tablinum was open in all its width onto the narrow peristyle which was supported by one eight-sided column painted red.

The long walls, south and north, were divided into five panels, the central being yellow, red side panels, and the outer two were black.

According to Notizie degli Scavi - above was an Egyptian style frieze but nothing remains of it.

Painted at the sides of the central yellow panel were two columns supporting the central aedicula.

On the back, (west) wall there were only three painted panels, yellow in the centre and two red sides panels.

Above around all of the room was a stucco cornice in relief, but now only preserved in a small portion.
