VI.12.2 Pompeii. May 2004. Looking south along east portico of rear peristyle. According to Jashemski, the rear peristyle was enclosed by 43 stuccoed columns. Below the two middle columns of the south portico there was a marble puteal, and beside it a marble table supported by a winged sphinx with the feet of a dog. Fragments of two statuettes were found in the garden. See Jashemski, W. F., 1993. The Gardens of Pompeii, Volume II: Appendices. New York: Caratzas. (p.145)

According to Jashemski, the rear peristyle was enclosed by 43 stuccoed columns.

Below the two middle columns of the south portico there was a marble puteal, and beside it a marble table supported by a winged sphinx with the feet of a dog.

Fragments of two statuettes were found in the garden.
