VII.4.2 Pompeii. Area Privata of Marcus Tullius, son of Marcus.

Excavated 1823-24

According to Fiorelli -

(Translation:

When M. Tullius gave the place for the construction of the temple, he limited the boundary with a stone (cippus), indicating the part that was remaining to him:

M . TULLI . M . F

AREA . PRIVATA

This area had three rooms, in the first of which was a graffito, scratched with a nail, in large letters P . CORNELIUS . IVLLO . FELICITER,

a triclinium, a kitchen with another hearth leaning against it, the stairs to the upper rooms with adjacent latrine, and the entrance to the basement of the temple cella.)
