VII.7.5 Pompeii. Oecus (m). 1871 drawing of painting of Hermaphrodite by Nicola La Volpe.
The drawing depicts Hermaphrodite naked, standing, with robe wrapped around the left arm that falls on the leg, intently looking at himself in a mirror.
The left arm stretches over the head and the right arm rests on the head of a statue of a bearded Pan, who is dressed in long chiton and with a thyrsus in his left hand.

According to Trendelenburg, the mirror is unusual in not having a handle but being held by the hand through a strap across its back.
