Looking west from entrance to atrium with impluvium and pseudo-peristyle, at rear.
According to Jashemski, the garden at the rear of the tablinum was enclosed on the east and south by a portico supported by columns.
See Jashemski, W. F., 1993. The Gardens of Pompeii, Volume II: Appendices. New York: Caratzas. (p.205). According to Garcia y Garcia, due to the bombing in 1943 there was destruction to part of the ala on the north of the portico. Two columns of the portico also fell down.

VIII.2.13? Pompeii. c.1828. Painting by Zahn of a wall of a house, of original colour.
He described it as
- in the vicinity of the forum, this wall was found behind la Curie, opposite side to Vesuvius, in the road that leads from the forum to the Scavo della Regina.
See Zahn, W., 1842-44. Die schönsten Ornamente und merkwürdigsten Gemälde aus Pompeji, Herkulanum und Stabiae: II. Berlin: Reimer, taf. 45.
We have not managed to identify the existing wall from this painting, but there are several good candidates in this house.
In the south-east corner of the atrium, there appears to be several rooms with walls with a dark (?black) zoccolo, as well as the tablinum.
Until further investigation, this will stay here.
