MANN 9501

The four medallions of this series [9501] painted on added mortar are less readable than the previous ones [9408, 9409, 9511]; moreover they were not engraved in the Pd'E.

However, what remains testifies to a distinctly different composition and execution.

The first medallion only retains the traces of two figures located on the left on a height, who seem to witness the fall of a third.

Three fishermen pulling a net occupy the foreground of the second medallion, which also shows a building built on an arcaded base and represented at an angle: above a colonnade stands a narrower storey.

From the third medallion can be read only one figure, it seems schematic, located in the foreground in front of a barely discernible porta sacra (?); in the distance, we can perhaps make out the outline of a mountain.

The fourth medallion shows a pier with arcades at the edge of which is a fisherman with two long poles; behind him, several rectangular buildings stand out and seem to surround, at the rear, an arm of the sea.
