18 dolia at Villa Regina, Boscoreale. May 2006. Room I, cella vinaria. After the grapes were pressed, the juice of the grapes was fermented in these dolia embedded in the courtyard.
According to the Boscoreale Antiquarium, this villa was used exclusively for the production of wine. This is shown by the presence of a torcularium and a cella vinaria. Paleo-botanic research has shown the presence of a vineyard which has today been replanted.
